Tack & Jibe is located in a 100+ year old fishing shanty in Historic Fishtown beside the Leland Harbor in Northern Michigan. We created Tack & Jibe in 2010 with a desire to create quality made objects using simple durable and sustainable materials such as canvas, salvaged wood and clay.

We are constantly designing and creating new products influenced by the traditional craftsmen of the Great Lakes, long summer days and stripes on boats. If you would like to follow our process, or see more about our influences, please check out our blog. We hope to see you in our shop some day!

Our shop is open seasonally end of May thru mid-October. We are located in Historic Fishtown beside the Leland Harbor, approx 45 minutes from Traverse City. The online store is open all day everyday year round.

> WHAT'S WITH THE NAME?

Tacking & Jibing is a sailing term meaning to work with the wind by turning towards it (TACK) or against it (JIBE). With the shop's location and our love of sailing because of its demanding understanding of ever changing weather conditions, we thought it was fitting for our exciting new adventure (being that we are both trained architects, not shopkeepers, but have tacked & jibed with the current economic conditions).
